The formation of a Patients' Association in 1993 has led to a successful patient-practice partnership and a resulting improvement in services. The objective of The Elliott Hall Medical Centre Patients' Association, (EHMCPA)was to harness the support of patients to help the Primary Health Care Team develop a service sensitive to the needs of the locality.
It has resulted in the rekindling of community spirit, a partnership between the practice and the patients, the shaping of the patient service, and the development of volunteer activities.
The EHMCPA is a registered charity that provides services directly to patients, supports patients' groups, liaises closely with the practice, and organises fundraising events to support these initiatives.
The Patients' Association newsletter, The ElliottEar, shares the Association's activities and conveys important medical news to every patient registered at Elliott Hall Medical Centre. All patients receive a copy of the ElliottEar delivered to their homes twice a year. The newsletter, supported by sponsorship, is currently produced and delivered free of charge by volunteers working for the Association. If you would like a copy of the latest version please click on the Newsletter link on the Latest News page.
